Arriving by car

Are you travelling from the north, south, or west? Follow the route over the Brenner motorway to the Brixen-Val Pusteria/Pustertal exit and then continue along the Val Pusteria/Pustertal state road for around 60 kilometres until you reach Welsberg. Turn left towards Gsies/Taisten directly after entering the village. Once you arrive in Taisten, follow the signs to the Alpen Tesitin past idyllic meadows and forests. Enjoy the one-of-a-kind views during your journey and marvel at the beauty of the surrounding nature. (Important: Selecting the "fastest route" might lead you over a somewhat uncomfortable mountain road.)

The route from the east via Lienz leads over the Austrian-Italian border. From the border, follow the state road to Welsberg and then turn right towards Gsies/Taisten. Once you arrive in Taisten, follow the signs to the Alpen Tesitin past idyllic meadows and forests. You’ll be sure to fall in love with the stunning views that accompany your journey.

Arriving by train

Enjoy a relaxed journey with Italy’s Trenitalia, Austria’s ÖBB, Germany’s DB, or South Tyrol’s SAD trains to Franzensfeste. Change trains there and take the regional train to Welsberg in Val Pusteria/Pustertal. We’ll be happy to pick you up at the train station free of charge.
