The Sellaronda and a few other insider tips

Despite being South Tyrol’s No. 1 ski mountain, the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz offers skiers a variety that goes well beyond its sunny slopes; in fact, the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz is part of Europe’s largest ski carousel, i.e. the Dolomiti Superski with its 1,200 km of pistes stretching across 12 ski areas, all accessible with a single pass.  If you are in good shape and have some experience under your belt, then the circular ski tour Sellaronda is an absolute must. It connects four different ski areas in the Dolomites, and offers stupendous views to the Marmolada and the Sella massif!

If you are spending your ski holidays with your family, we can recommend – beside the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz – two more family-friendly ski areas: the Monte Elmo/Helm and the Baranci/Haunold ski areas, which are part of the Three Peaks Dolomites ski resort. These two “good things in small packages” offer 93 km of beautiful, sunny pistes and even more beautiful views; the slopes are ideal for children and beginners. Those who wish to save their legs for the swings can avail themselves of the Guggen lift facilities in Tesido/Taisten (1 km from our hotel).

Can’t get enough of skiing? Then we suggest a ski tour in the Dolomites!
